Oh hoo-rah, the narcissist crawled back out of the woodwork. I thought the only time we would have to hear about him again was when he was being sentenced.
It’s not easy, but Michigan voters have shown that you can indeed flip a state legislature from red to blue. Is it possible that Indiana could ever do that? If Indiana voters ever paid the slightest bit of attention to what the seven Republican members of the House actually represent, it would be a no-brainer. They vote to reduce taxes on those most able to pay them. They voted against accepting electoral votes for Biden. They voted against getting to the bottom of what happened on January 6th of 2021 when even their own lives were threatened and rioters were calling for the hanging of a former Indiana Republican governor. They voted against the Child Tax Credit, they voted against infrastructure legislation, they voted against the Inflation Reduction Act, they voted against strategies to combat climate change. They vote against everything. Just wake up, Hoosiers, and use your brains instead of just automatically voting for whatever the Republican party puts on your plate.
Just reading the local newspaper every day gives you an eye-opening view of what is happening to our children. A father intentionally harming a 4-month-old child, a couple finally pleading guilty to torturing and killing one of their siblings in their care, a drug investigation where numerous loaded weapons, grenades and an incredible amount of drugs are found out in the open, and another woman arrested for having her children and pets living in filth and excrement. What does anyone expect of these children? Our schools are not prepared to handle the problems of these children, and yet our state refuses to acknowledge that a problem exists.
All I have to say about the book written by Mike Pence is too little too late. He stood by idly for four years and allowed the monster he now condemns to emerge.
A former President who has been impeached twice, has attempted a failed coup and insurrection, has in fact stolen secret and highly classified documents, is being investigated for multiple crimes — this guy announces he will run for President and do it all over again. That’s bad enough. What’s way worse is that tens of millions of Americans think it’s wonderful and just can’t wait. MAGA! If this were in a work of fiction, it would never be taken the least bit seriously. It’s simply too far-fetched. But it’s serious, and it’s frightening that so many Americans are so incredibly witless and ignorant. No wonder Trump says, “I love the uneducated.” They’re his most reliable supporters.
Listened to Trump’s speech yesterday that he is throwing his hat into the 2024 race. Right away he goes in the wrong direction. Like all Republicans, he preaches economic issues like lower inflation, lower energy prices, better education, improved military, etc. We learned from the recent midterms that these are not the issues that sway voters. Voters want abortions and Trump had better learn to say those words if he is ever to get re-elected.
Kyrsten Sinema, a Democratic Senator from Arizona, did not appear at a single event or do a single thing in support of Democratic candidates for office in her state. All she did was, after the election, give a pious speech about being patient while votes were counted, and issue some platitudes about free and fair elections. But this rings hollow in view of the fact that Sinema voted against changes to the filibuster rules to allow a vote on legislation to protect voting rights. Sinema should be at the top of the list of Democrats that Democrats themselves should primary out of office when her term ends in 2025. That’s right after they dump Joe Manchin.
Well the orange criminal announced his candidacy. The Republicans had their out after the January 6th insurrection. They could have denounced him, impeached him and then allow the attorney general to indict him. However they groveled and kissed the ring. What will they do now? Will they continue to destroy their party and our democracy? Or will they honor the Constitution and stand up and rid us of this cancer? My bet is MAGA full steam ahead while he collects donations for his legal defenses as the fools still attend his cult rallies. Republicans could save America, but they won’t. They are nothing but cowards and hypocrites that could care less about you or I or saving the republic.
A Quickly contributor laments that in the midterm elections, smart Republicans (like themselves) voted for jobs and the economy, and everybody else voted for abortions and “freebies.” Huh? Under this Democratic administration employment is the highest and unemployment the lowest in decades, perhaps ever, and all those in Congress who got this smart Republican’s vote probably voted against ways to improve a COVID-affected economy, like the Inflation Reduction Act and billions in infrastructure spending. And inflation has in fact slowed in the wake of these Biden administration economic initiatives. In the meantime, it’s these “jobs and economy” Republicans who have spent their time obsessing about which books to ban, Critical Race Theory, “woke” culture, who can marry whom, transgender bathrooms, and whether or not a 10-year-old rape victim can get an abortion. And they consider this smart?
