Bay FC grabbed its first road victory of the season by shutting out the North Carolina Courage 1-0 on Saturday night.
Midfielder Kiki Pickett scored the lone goal of the match in the 33rd minute, and it was a special one. Her long-distance, half-volley rattled off the woodwork and into the back of the net.
The goal was Stanford product Pickett’s second of the season.
Bay FC goalkeeper Jordan Silkowitz had a save on the Courage’s lone shot on goal. The club’s clean sheet marked its second shutout of the season, the last coming on Bay FC’s last victory — on March 22 vs. Racing Louisville FC at PayPal Park — as Saturday’s victory snapped a two-match losing skid.

The United States finished the three-day competition with 126 points, 16 ahead of Japan. Italy was third with 86 points to claim its first ever medal in the event.
Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara won the pairs free skate as the host nation cut the Americans’ lead to 11 points, but the dominant performances by Glenn and Liu clinched gold for the U.S.
Two-time world champion Ilia Malinin won the men’s free skate to solidify the overall lead for the Americans.
