Britney Spears caused a frenzy online when she seemingly announced she had adopted a baby girl.

On Monday, the “Toxic” singer raised eyebrows with an Instagram post with a caption that said, among other things, “I want to let you guys know I adopted a beautiful baby girl.” Spears paired the message with a video of herself dancing and three winking emojis. “Her name is Lennon London Spears,” she added.

However, sources close to Spears say the Grammy-winning singer has not adopted a daughter and that the “announcement” was a joke.

Spears also wrote, along with her bit, “Lennon today has on adorable dress !!! It says I’m NEW HERE !!!” she said with laughing emojis.

Spears’ post also asserted she has plans to move to Italy, but it turns out that’s not happening either.

Dreyfuss bows out of Shark Con due to health

The annual Shark Con, presented by National Geographic, was short one enthusiast this year.

The event celebrated its 10th anniversary and was set to feature “Jaws” stars Richard Dreyfuss and Jeffrey Voorhees, as the iconic film is also celebrating a milestone of 50 years.

Dreyfuss was, unfortunately, unable to attend, as his health prevented him from feeling well enough.

On July 12, in a post on the Shark Con Instagram, Dreyfuss can be seen talking from a hospital bed and revealed to fans that he was sick, apologizing repeatedly for his absence.

“Hello, fellow cons,” Dreyfuss said. “I am very, very sorry to tell you that I’ve been diagnosed with, viral, er … what is it?”

“Bronchitis,” Dreyfuss’ wife, Svetlana Erokhin, said off-screen.

Gere draws ire of singer’s daughter over property

The daughter of a music legend is furious with a Golden Globe-winning actor over an allegedly broken promise.

Lulu Simon, the daughter of Paul Simon and Edie Brickell, openly criticized Richard Gere on social media last week. Lulu Simon said Gere bought her childhood home and vowed to preserve the 32-acre property, but instead sold it to real estate developers.

“He bought my childhood home, promised he would take care of the land as condition of his purchase, proceeded to never actually move in & just sold it to a developer as 9 separate plots... Hate him!” she wrote in an angry Instagram Story.

According to People magazine, Gere bought the New Canaan, Connecticut, property from the Simon & Garfunkel musician and Brickell for $10.8 million in 2022.

Gere has not commented on the accusations.
