Leading up to the NFL Draft, LaJohntay Wester said he was looking forward to going to his home in Florida to be with family.

“I’m ready to get back with my family, be around my family, and then celebrate,” he said.

On Saturday, the former Colorado receiver had plenty of reason to celebrate after he was selected in the sixth round of the draft by the Baltimore Ravens.

Wester was taken with the 203rd overall pick. Moments later, at No. 208, another Buffs receiver was selected, as Jimmy Horn Jr. went to the Carolina Panthers.

Overall, CU had four players drafted, including receiver/cornerback Travis (No. 2 overall to Jacksonville) and quarterback Shedeur Sanders (fifth round to Cleveland).

It ties for the most draft picks in one year for the program in the past 22 years — also having four in 2006, 2011 and 2017.

CU also tied for the most players drafted in the Big 12, along with Arizona, Iowa State and Oklahoma State.

The 5-foot-9, 170-pound Wester finished his college career with 326 catches, the sixth-most in FBS history. After beginning his career with four seasons at Florida Atlantic, Wester caught 74 passes for 931 yards and 10 touchdowns last season, his lone year with the Buffs.

Horn, who is 5-8, 173 pounds, caught 95 passes for 1,008 yards and seven touchdowns in two seasons at CU — including an injury-plagued 2024. In his four-year college career, which included two seasons at South Florida, he caught 162 passes for 1,967 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Wester and Horn also shined as returners during their college careers.

Between Hunter, Horn and Wester, this is the first time CU has ever had three receivers selected in the same draft.

It’s the first time three Buffs from the same position were picked since 1991, when three offensive linemen were taken.

CU was the only team to have three receivers selected in this year’s draft.

Following the draft, Jacksonville signed safety Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig and defensive end BJ Green to undrafted free agent deals. Safety Shilo Sanders and receiver Will Sheppard both signed free agent deals with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
