Green no longer means “go.” The new meaning is “look both ways, allow at least a car or two to fly through the intersection, then proceed with the utmost caution.” If it wanted to, this state and its municipalities could not only attempt to make our roads safer, but also pay down debt with more expensive moving violation fines. But that would be more work than just increasing taxes.

All voters have to know about the GOP tax plan is that the huge cuts for corporations and the rich are permanent, and the tiny cuts for the bottom 90 percent are temporary. So, all of you supply-side conservatives who do not know this are in for a big surprise, as well as a bigger surprise when your Social Security benefits are reduced to pay down the GOP-caused deficit.

A Speak Out writer wrote that without unions, corporations would control all our lives. However, there are pros and cons to why they’re even necessary. One question I’d ask the writer is why is it necessary to have a private and public union for members doing the exact same job? It’s a known fact that public government union members get higher wages and better benefits than those doing the same jobs in the private sector. To me, if we’re going to have unions at all, it should be offered to those who risk their lives, such as police officers and firefighters. We should add all military personnel who are putting their young lives at risk in today’s war zones.

Does President Donald Trump intend to take the lead and bring jobs back to the U.S. by having his clothing lines manufactured back here in the United States? And what about his daughter and her jewelry line? Will those items be manufactured here too?
