


Nash Horton had two hits, including a solo home run, and scored three runs, but St. Francis High’s baseball team lost 5-4 to Palma in the teams’ Pacific Coast Athletic League Gabilan Division game Tuesday.
Javier Fonseca had a hit, RBI, and run scored for the Sharks (8-5, 5-4), who are ranked No. 25 in the Central Coast Section by maxpreps.com. Donovan Dominguez had two hits.
No. 8 Palma (11-2, 5-2) scored four runs over the final three innings to take a 5-2 lead in the seventh inning. The Sharks scored twice in the bottom of the seventh.Sharks starting pitcher Evan Dyer gave up four hits, five walks and three runs over five innings and was tagged with the loss. He struck out 12 batters.
Damian Ybarra had three hits, including a double, three RBI, and scored a run for the Chieftains, who hit four doubles.
Winning pitcher Alan Gonzalez threw six innings and gave up six hits, two walks, and two runs. He struck out eight batters. Rocco Razzeca pitched the seventh and earned the save.
St. Francis plays at Palma on Thursday at 4 p.m.
College baseball
At Monterey Peninsula 5, Cabrillo 0 >> Oscar Knapp and Diego Grabiel each had two of the Seahawks’ six hits in their Coast Conference South Division loss Tuesday.
Adrian Castaneda and Truett Ross each had a hit and walk for the Seahawks (12-20, 5-8).
Finn O’Connor hit two doubles, drew two walks, and scored three runs for the Lobos (18-14, 6-7). Omar Gonzalez had a hit and three RBI.
Right-handed pitcher Dom Hernandez, a Watsonville alum, earned the complete-game win. He gave up six hits, two walks, and struck out six batters.
Losing pitcher Anthony Sullivan gave up six hits, three walks and four runs over five innings. He struck out four batters.
Cabrillo hosts MPC on Thursday at 2:30 p.m.
College softball
San Jose City 9, at Cabrillo 4 >> Morgan DeVillires had two hits and three RBI in the Seahawks’ Coast Conference loss Tuesday.
Brisea Rivera had a hit, walk, RBI, and run scored for the Seahawks (4-28-1, 1-9). Bella Fromel had a hit and scored twice, and Maddi Burry had two hits.
Caitlin Sredanovich had a hit and two RBI for the Jaguars (29-3, 7-2).
Cabrillo plays at Monterey Peninsula (14-15, 3-6) on Thursday at 3 p.m.
