A cadet with the U.S. Air Force Academy was formally charged Tuesday afternoon for reportedly sexually assaulting a woman at a fraternity near the University of Colorado Boulder in November.

Roman Joseph William Bradley, 20, is charged with sexual assault — no consent.

His booking photo was not immediately available.

He is set for a status conference on April 17 and was released from custody on a $5,000 bond.

According to an affidavit, in November, a woman went to a Halloween party hosted at Phi Gamma Delta at 1012 University Ave. in Boulder.

While she was there, a man later identified as Bradley began dancing with her but after he moved his hand under her dress, the woman jumped back and told Bradley “she did not want that and it was not okay,” according to the affidavit.

The woman told authorities that Bradley apologized and explained it wouldn’t happen again.

However, after they began to dance again, Bradley reportedly placed his hand under her dress again and digitally penetrated her, according to the affidavit.

The sexual assault was reported to an investigator with the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations on Dec. 4, according to the affidavit.

On Feb. 11, Boulder officers received a call from an investigator with the U.S. Air Force stating that they were about to speak with Bradley.

Once all three of them were present for the call, the U.S. Air Force investigator “spoke with (Bradley) for approximately 25 minutes on unrelated items” and then read him his rights. Bradley then invoked his right to defense counsel and the interview ceased, according to the affidavit.

That same day, a Boulder police officer spoke with Bradley over the phone and confirmed that Bradley came to Boulder over Halloween weekend. Although, when the officer asked if he recalled the exact day he came to Boulder, Bradley stated that he did not want to answer any further questions without his legal counsel, according to the affidavit.

An arrest warrant was signed on Feb. 27 and Bradley was arrested around late March, according to court records.

Jeff Troth, U.S. Air Force Academy Strategic Communications spokesman, said that Bradley is currently a cadet in the U.S. Air Force Academy in the Colorado Springs area.
