Why the Buffs won: CU shot the ball well (51.7%), nearly doubled up Southern Utah in rebounds (39-20) and got contributions from a variety of players throughout the roster.

Three stars

1. Lior Garzon: She finished with 20 points, including 3-for-6 from 3-point range, and three steals.

2. Johanna Teder: Stepped into a starting point guard role and, while she had just three points, she had a career-high seven assists and two rebounds.

3. Sara-Rose Smith: Scored just two points but led the team in rebounds (seven), posted a career-high five assists, and had two steals. She was also a team-best plus-19 when she was on the court.
