Illegal immigration

Re “Deportations as theater is the wrong tactic” (March 28):

Theater belongs to the judges ever since Democratic-placed judges filled our court system when Trump came aboard our political system. Do you want to bring back 261 gang members or potential gang members from a jailed situation? If you do, you pay for their care at between $30,000-$60,000 a year. My lending bank is closed! What was the legal right the judges gave for allowing gang members into our country for our “get acquainted” services? That question of due process should be fielded first. What due process right do they have to my tax money? What due process right do these members have to be involved in producing gangs, using drugs, bullying young people as a precursor to entering in our country?

California elections

California Democrats (March 27) are having a hissy fit over President Trump’s election reform demands, clearly showing the corruption in the election processes in the state of California. Why on earth would anybody not want to clean up the voter rolls unless you want to cheat and deceive the system? Voting should require proof of citizenship and should be a one-day process. Dragging out ballot counting for days or weeks at a time only leads to speculation that fraud is occurring. It’s time to clean up California elections!

Assembly Bill 475

Re “Prison labor ban returns as a bill after failing in election” (March 27):

Our ever unpopular and omnipotent elected officials are doing another end run around what the people of California said about banning prison labor. This topic was placed on the ballot and the people of California said no. So now, our elected officials are trying to pass AB 475 to circumvent what the people of California voted for. Sound familiar?

Our elected officials make it appear as though they care or are even interested in what the people of California want by putting various ballot measures up to a vote by the people. However, if the vote does not go their way, they immediately look for Plan B to get their agenda implemented. What is next, claiming that sending people to prison is kidnapping, and therefore, the practice should stop? OK, I will have to agree, a decision like this would immediately stop or reduce the prison overcrowding problem. A political win-win!
