SAN JOSE >> Four people, including two minors, have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a man whose body was found inside a parked car in North San Jose in September, police said.

The shooting was reported just after midnight Sept. 27 near Townsend Avenue and Park Entrance Drive, which is flanked by Townsend Park and an apartment complex. Responding officers found a man in a car and saw that he had been shot at least once, according to the San Jose Police Department.

The injured man died at the scene. He was later identified as Cristo Contreras Jr., 27, of San Jose.

In a Tuesday news release, police announced arrests following its investigation into the killing. Police said that on Dec. 11, Levi Padilla and Jasiah Eti — both 19-year-old San Jose residents — and two minors were arrested in the case. The two minor suspects were not publicly identified.

The shooting marked the city’s 24th homicide of the year investigated by San Jose police, a total that has since reached 27.
