Claire Marie (O’Shea) Hare beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024. at the age of 94. Claire was a true friend, a spiritual leader, and a woman of deep faith devoted to Jesus, Mary and Joseph.

Claire was born May 9th, 1930 in San Francisco to Christopher and Catherine O’Shea.

Her brothers were John O’Shea and Kevin O’Shea. Claire was married to her loving husband Francis Hare for 57 years until he passed away in 2015. She is survived by her daughter Marie Anderson and son in law Steve Anderson, son Joseph Hare, and grandchildren Stephen Anderson (Kerry), Mary Wilson (Jonny), Bobby Anderson, Celia Hare, and Maria Esquivias.

Claire’s faith and devotion were the center of her life. Claire was part of the founding members of St. Victor’s Church in San Jose where she was a daily mass attendee and very active and involved with the parish. She started a Marion prayer group at St. Victors which is devoted to Mary the mother of Jesus, and the Rosary, was a Lay Carmelite, and part of the Alter Society. Claire had the most cheerful smile, gorgeous blue eyes and was beautiful inside and out. Her family and friends were so important to her. She enjoyed praying and learning, spending time with her prayer groups, with friends, making rosaries, everything Irish and helping others.

A Rosary is set for Friday October 18, 2024 at 12 noon and then a Funeral Mass to follow at 12:30pm at St. Victors Church at 3108 Sierra Road in San Jose, CA 95132. A reception will follow at a local restaurant.
