Applications are now open for several new graduate programs at the University of Denver focused on the AI technology that’s disrupting the business world.

These new online master’s degree concentrations and graduate certificates, AI Strategy and Application in IT and AI Strategy and Application in Communication, fill a unique gap. They prepare leaders who want to better understand how to integrate AI to achieve organizational goals.

“AI is changing the world, and business leaders have to change with it,” says IT Program Director Cathie Wilson. “Our program is specifically designed to equip professionals with both the strategic and technical know-how to leverage AI effectively and responsibly.”

A Deloitte survey found that more than two-thirds of executives are facing an AI skills gap. Furthermore, as companies gain more reliance on AI, their need for AI-savvy business leaders grows faster than their need for engineers.

The new graduate programs at DU provide a firm foundation in AI technologies, their practical applications and limitations, and how they can be used to meet business challenges. Industry-aligned courses teach the ethical and compliance considerations needed to make informed decisions and lead teams in implementing effective AI solutions.

“Communicators looking to build expertise in AI need a program that teaches concrete skills and practical strategies for applying the technology,” says Communication Management Program Director Cindy Cragg. “We’re proud to offer a program that prepares professionals to not just understand AI use but to drive these changes in a strategic, ethical way.”

The online programs, offered by DU’s University College, are designed to meet the needs of working adults, and emphasize flexibility, career relevance, and top-quality instruction from industry experts.

The return on investment happens quickly, as learners gain skills in each course. Students can earn a graduate certificate in 6 months or a master’s degree in as little as 18 months.
