Bruce K. Sevy, of Denver CO, of cancer, age 71, in Denver, Colorado. A native of Stockton CA, he worked as a theatre and musical director during his professional life. He was musical director for PCPA Theatre Fest, Santa Maria for many years, lived in San Francisco, then moved to Seattle, where he began his directing career with several Seattle productions. He then served as artistic director of Tacoma Actors Guild for seven years, then took a staff position at Denver Center Theatre Company, where he worked, with a hiatus at Alabama Shakespeare Company, for many years as associate artistic director. He directed numerous plays and musicals there, and headed DCTC’s New Play Development and annual new play festival. He has directed plays and musicals throughout the U.S., including his popular production Two Pianos Four Hands. A fine pianist, composer and musician in addition, he will be greatly missed for his talent, humor, warmth, and theatrical skill. He is survived by husband Chad Henry, sister Lee Anne Bunn, and numerous extended family.
