He was a member f the M Club (swimming), and he on the annual Lake City three mile wim two years in a row. He worked s a social worker for 23 years at ennepin County. He enjoyed eading, especially biographies, as well s hunting and hiking. John was a entle gentleman who was adored by ll his children and grandchildren. e never missed a Christmas Eve eading the Night Before Christmas to he family. He was a sweet man, good listener, and a great cook. ohn was preceded in death by rother William J. Young, sister osemary E. Carvallo, stepson Craig nderson, stepdaughter Mary Helen ecker, and first wife Mary Anderson. ohn is survived by his loving wife of 6 years Marilyn, his cherished aughter Jeanne Dietrich, stepsons ike Simerson and Jack Simerson, tepdaughters Margaret Schultz, Pat imerson-Wallfred, Florence Manley, nd Ann Simerson, as well as 18 randchildren and 20 great randchildren. celebration of John’s life will be lanned at a later date.
