Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the entire “Peanuts” gang will once again take over Knott’s Berry Farm for a 75th anniversary celebration of the comic strip centered in the recently renovated Camp Snoopy kiddie land.
Knott’s Peanuts Celebration kicks off Feb. 8 and runs weekends through March 9 with stage shows, live music, character meet-and-greets and themed food and merchandise at the Buena Park theme park.
The Calico Mine Stage will host new musical “Let’s Celebrate” during the day, with the “Peanuts” characters joined by singers and dancers for a 75th anniversary party. In the evening, the stage will be the site of “Snoopy’s Legendary Rooftop Concert,” with indie rock band Jelly of the Month Club headlining.
The new “Life and Art of Charles M. Schulz” gallery exhibit in Calico Town Hall will examine the 75-year history of the “Peanuts” comic strip and a host of characters created by Schulz starting in 1950.
The Peanuts Cowboy Jamboree in Calico Park will feature Wild West-themed games hosted by Franklin and Linus. Pigpen’s Pig Pen in the Ghost Town Livery Stables will offer a chance to meet a few animals and the messiest “Peanuts” character of them all.
Budding artists can learn to draw Snoopy, Woodstock and other characters in the Peanuts Sketch School in the Bird Cage Theatre.
The annual Knott’s Peanuts Celebration will be centered in the recently made over Camp Snoopy — which has more than a dozen kiddie rides, including a new family coaster and super-size kids swing and updated off-road rally race and miniature train ride.
The Peanuts Celebration is part of the Knott’s Seasons of Fun — with Knott’s Boysenberry Festival (March 28-April 27), Knott’s Summer Nights (June 13-Sept. 1), Knott’s Scary Farm (Sept. 18-Nov. 1) and Knott’s Merry Farm (Nov. 21-Jan. 5) on the calendar for the remainder of the year.
