Dora passed away at home on February 12, 1927 at the age of 96 years. She was born in Dennison, Ohio on January 12, 1927 to John and Adelina Barlafante. Dora was the third of four daughters. Her sisters were Pauline, Emma, and Virginia.

Dora graduated from Mingo Junction High School in June 1945. She married Larry Roma on November 11, 1945 while he was on leave from the Navy.

They had three children while living in Ohio: Larry Jr., Gary, and Angela. Dora and Larry moved to California in 1953 and raised two more children: David and Brian.

In addition to being excellent homemaker, Dora also worked as a Teacher’s Aid for 20 years at West Randall Elementary School where she loved working with the students.

Dora was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, of 61 years, son, Joseph Gary, parents and two sisters, Pauline DiMatteo and Emma Corona. Dora is survived by her children: Larry Jr (Patty), Gary (Margie), Angela, David (Carmen) and Brian. Dora has 7 grandchildren: Tiffany Dear (Randall), Melanie Grove (Karl), Christopher Mayhew (Jenn), Douglas Worthy Jr., Ashley Southwell (William), Anthony Roma, and Giovanni Roma. Her great grandchildren are Ethan Dear, Madison Dear, Peyton Dear, Noah Grove, Layla Grove, Lawrence Worthy, Kyra Worthy, Briley Southwell, Gunner Southwell, Jackson Mayhew and Madelyn Mayhew. She is also survived by her sister, Virginia Ziza of Ohio and several very special nieces and nephews.

Dora was dedicated to her family. She attended hundreds of athletic events, plays, and award banquets. She was a member of St. George’s Catholic Church, Italian Catholic Federation and Sons of Italy. Dora was devoted to her family and loved to travel, play cards, and host the most incredible feasts you could imagine!

Viewing and Rosary will be held at Fontana Mortuary on March 13th from 4 to 8 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St.

George’s Catholic Church, Bloomington on March 14th at 11:00 am, followed by burial at Riverside National Cemetery.
