MENTOR Minnesota recruits caring adults to help introduce a child to new ideas and opportunities through mentoring. Here’s one of the kids who could use a mentor’s help.
First name: Jordy
Age: 6
Interests: Jordy loves to collect things, his stuffies, to learn, and is a 6-year-old on the go! His favorite food is mac & cheese or any kind of pizza! He is still learning to swim, so does not like swimming too much. He loves arts and crafts, animals (especially giraffes).
Personality/Characteristics: His mom describes him, “Very sweet, caring, loving, friendly, artist, gamer, talkative, works well with others, never gives up.” He used the words “funny,” “smart” and “fast” as words that describe him best,
Goals/dreams: His parent notes: “He is a very gentle soul. He is a young kid who has been through a lot. He also had a seizure when he was 1 and 2 months old; it affected his learning, especially his speech. One thing I have always worried about is him not having a male role model in his life.” When he grows up he wants to be an astronaut! His three wishes would be to: 1) Meet his favorite YouTuber -Linkybox 2) That it would only be the weekend….all the time 3) Go to Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America.
Caring, active, patient and empathetic mentor(s) would be a perfect fit for Jordy, with animal enthusiasts being a plus!
