If Donald Trump had taken responsibility when he first learned about the coronavirus pandemic, just think of the lives that could have been saved. To him it was a made-up hoax and nothing more than fake news. Sadly, over 700,000 Americans are now dead. If you placed all 700,000 corpses head to toe along the interstate, it would stretch 800 miles, the distance from Chicago to New York. For those who have been living under a rock, maybe it’s time you get the vaccine.

To Bruce from Chicago. You wanted to know what’s going on with people from the suburbs always complaining about Chicago. I now live in Hazel Crest, but my roots are from Chicago. I still have family living in the city. I know crime is happening in all major cities, but living in Hazel Crest just a few miles from Chicago, I am too afraid to get on the Dan Ryan expressway. In other words, just because you don’t live in the area doesn’t make you less considered.

I don’t live in Crestwood but I shop at their Menards. The recent articles about the village possibly creating a position for the mayor should he step down is quite humiliating. It comes across like he may be rewarded despite the federal indictment. Why? What about consequences? It doesn’t send a good message as everyone is seeing this in front page headlines.

The left continues to sow the seeds of discord, and the Columbus holiday is no exception. The so-called tensions concerning the holiday reported are nothing more than the cancel culture at work attempting to vilify one of the founders of this great country. Celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day ignores the violence perpetrated by these people on each other and the settlers of this country. The left’s slanted narrow version of history does a major disservice to the greatest nation in the history of the world, and for what purpose?

Congratulations to Joe from OK Lawn. You said it just right about Columbus Day. I don’t understand it. When George Floyd’s statue had paint on it they were all upset and very hurt. This is a bunch of bunk. I think we should wake up and start being Americans.
