NOTES: The struggling Buffs return to the Big 12 tournament for the first time since 2010 as the ninth seed. In 12 previous appearances in the Big 12 tournament, CU was never seeded lower than eighth. … The winner plays top-seeded TCU on Saturday at 3 p.m. … Goalie Jordan Nytes and sophomore defender Faith Leyba on Tuesday were named first team All-Big 12. Leyba was a third team all-conference pick and an all-freshman selection last year in the Pac-12, and she has started all 39 games of her two-year CU career. … Legacy alum Juliauna Hayward was named second team all-conference, recording one goal and two assists while making all 18 starts. Jace Holley earned a spot on the all-freshman team after scoring four goals, all of which were game-winners. … After the quarterfinals on Saturday, the tournament resumes with the semifinals on Nov. 6, with the title match scheduled for Nov. 9. … Despite a scoreless draw against Utah in the regular season finale on Friday, the Buffs are unbeaten in their past six matches against the Utes (3-0-3). … The start time was pushed up to 10:45 a.m. (from 1 p.m.) in an attempt to get ahead of weather headed toward Kansas City.

NOTES: CU (10-11, 3-6 Big 12) heads into a demanding road swing with three consecutive losses. … Since the start of the 2023 season, the Buffs (10-11, 3-6 Big 12) have gone 1-9 against ranked foes, including an 0-4 mark this year. … The Buffs have never played TCU, which joined the Big 12 after CU’s previous stint in the league ended in 2010. CU leads the series against Baylor 23-10 and has played the Bears twice since the clubs were last league rivals, winning road matches in 2013 and again in the 2017 NCAA Tournament. … Wednesday’s match at TCU begins a run of five road dates in seven games for the Buffs. … Freshman middle blocker Maria Splawska made her CU debut during Friday’s loss against BYU, finishing with three kills and four blocks. … TCU’s Melanie Parra leads the Big 12 at 5.25 kills per set. … The Buffs rank last in the Big 12 in kills per set (11.92) and opponent hitting percentage (.258), while also ranking 12th in hitting percentage (.214).
