


Boulder
• 30th Street and Colorado Avenue underpass project: Left turns will be restricted westbound, eastbound and southbound for underpass construction. Sidewalk detours where noted (southeast quadrant sidewalks closed); use temporary crossings at 30th/Euclid Avenue and Colorado west of the intersection. Cyclists merge with traffic. Northbound bus stop on 30th (BOUND) is closed; board at next stop. Anticipated to end July 31.
• Hill Hotel: Westbound Pleasant is open for local traffic from Broadway to the alley. The eastbound lane is closed for demolition of old buildings and waterline and new sewer work. Activity time is 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Anticipated to end Jan. 31.
• Limelight Hotel: Construction on this new hotel and conference center will result in a one-way road on 13th Street from University to Grandview and Grandview from 13th to Broadway with no parking. For the construction of a turn lane on Broadway, northbound lanes will be closed. Two-lane traffic will be in the southbound lane. Then, northbound traffic will have the outside lane closed with the inside lane open until July 24. Activity time is 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Anticipated to end Jan. 1.
• 19th Street improvements: Utility work will occur in advance of the city’s 19th Street multimodal improvements project. The street will be single lane for vehicle travel where work is active. Activity time is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The project is anticipated to end Aug. 31.
• 311 Mapleton: There will be a new curb and gutter sidewalk at 311 Mapleton. The sidewalk will be closed and westbound Mapleton from Fourth will be reduced to one-lane traffic. Activity time for this project is 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through July 24.
• Weathervane development site median reconstruction: At Arapahoe and Old Tale Road, the median will be demolished and rebuilt as part of Weathervane site work. The inner-most eastbound and westbound lanes will be closed at Arapahoe and Old Tale Road until July 28. Construction will occur from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Longmont
• Firestone-Longmont mobility hub: The Colorado Department of Transportation is constructing the Firestone-Longmont Mobility Hub at the Interstate 25 and Colo. 119 interchange. Daytime work hours are expected between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, with periodic overnight work. Motorists can expect periodic single-lane closures on Colo. 119 and I-25 and on-and off-ramp closures, as well as 11-foot lane restrictions on the southbound I-25 on-ramp and the northbound off-ramp at Exit 240. Tuesday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. construction crews will be realigning the southbound and northbound off-ramps. The Colorado Department of Transportation will have temporary closures that impact the I-25 southbound and northbound off-ramps at Exit 240, at Colo. 119 and southbound I-25 main line. The project is expected to be completed by August 2024.
• Longs Peak Avenue: Work on the Price Park Tank Replacement Project is underway. This 18-month-long project is intended to improve water quality and service within the city. Eastbound and westbound lanes on Longs Peak Avenue now run next to each other along the south side of the road between Sunset Street and the entrance to the Sunset Golf Course. Access to Price Park is currently closed and parking in the Sunset Golf Course and Pool parking lot will be limited until next spring. Recreational facilities — including Sunset Park, Sunset Pool and Sunset Golf Course — are expected to remain open during construction. There is still two-way traffic, but the existing westbound lane is expected to remain closed and the new traffic pattern to remain in place until the project is completed in spring.
Boulder County
• U.S. 287 and Colo. 52: The Colorado Department of Transportation will begin safety and traffic flow improvements at the intersection of U.S. 287 and Colo. 52 in Boulder County. Motorists can expect single left-lane closures during the day on both U.S. 287 and Colo. 52 at the intersection. Right-turn lanes in all directions will be fully closed until further notice. Full access to roadways, area businesses and driveways will be maintained. The project is expected to be completed in October.
• Colo. 170 culvert replacement project: Culvert replacement work is expected to begin at Colo. 170 and Marshall Road on Monday. Work consists of replacing a culvert with wing walls underneath the roadway and excavating and patching asphalt along the highway. Work will generally take place Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the intersection, with construction crews utilizing single lane closures and shoulder closures along Colo. 170 and Marshall Road. 24-hour single lane closures will be in effect utilizing traffic signals. Alternative routes along U.S. 36 are advised. The project is expected to be completed in November.
• Longmont Dam Road bridge rehabilitation: This project has been suspended until the fall due to high water.
• Hygiene Road paving project: The Road Maintenance Division will repave all of Hygiene Road between U.S. 36 and 75th Street. Work is expected to last through July, weather permitting. The western half of the road will be fully removed and rebuilt from the the ground up, while the eastern half will receive a mill and overlay. Due to the full-depth reclamation on the west end, all travelers can expect significant delays during working hours, which are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Until paving begins, the road will be in less than ideal conditions (gravel on the west and milled asphalt on the east). Cyclists may want to avoid this road until paving has been completed. Speeds will be reduced during the project.
• U.S. 36 surface and safety improvements: A surface and safety improvement project on U.S. 36 between Boulder and Lyons will begin this month. Work will involve widening and resurfacing several sections of roadway. Work will take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and will require the use of through lane, turning lane and shoulder closures, which will result in travel delays. There is also night work planned at various times throughout the project. This work will take place between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. and run through August, weather permitting.
Frederick
• Pavement maintenance program: Patching with mill and overlay work will occur in the Savannah neighborhood. Additional asphalt patching is scheduled for Fifth Street in Downtown Frederick, Tipple Parkway between Colorado Boulevard and Ridgeway Boulevard, Downtown Frederick, Morningside Estates and other areas identified as an area of need.
Mead
• Weld County Road 13: Expect a one-lane closure on WCR 13, south of WCR 32. Single-lane traffic will last approximately four to six weeks, followed by a full closure for two weeks. The road work is related to the Red Barn development. Traffic control and message boards will be placed around the area. Residents will continue to have access to their property along WCR 13 during the one-lane closure.
• Colo. 66 and Weld County Road 13: Road widening will begin on Colo. 66 at WCR 13. The westbound left turn lane onto WCR 13 will be closed for approximately three weeks. Additionally, intermittent night closures will occur during this time. The detour route will be WCR 9.5.
Weld County
• WCR 33 is closed to all traffic at U.S. 85.
Erie
• County Line Road closure: County Line Road, between Colo. 7 and Monroe Street, is permanently closed to all northbound and southbound traffic as part of ongoing infrastructure developments. The closure is necessary to complete utility work associated with the Lafayette Water Reclamation Facility Expansion project and as part of the decommissioning plan within the Parkdale development project. During this transition, residents should use the detour via 119th Street and Arapahoe Road. However, this is a temporary detour. The completion of Coal Creek Boulevard and Monroe Street later this summer will replace County Line Road as the new primary southbound route to Colo. 7.
