Resident of San Jose

“I loved life and never got cheated out of good times.” That is how hetold afriend he wanted to be remembered. Born in Waukegan, Illinois on October 5th, 1949 to parents, Stephanie and David, Sr., Dave grew up in the Chicago suburb before joining the Air Force. He served four years as a medical technician where he was proud to say he had good times and made himself relevant.

He left the Air Force in 1975 while stationed in California and moved toSan Jose where he earned degrees in broadcast journalism and political science at SJSU. Neither field intrigued Dave enough to pursue a career, so after graduation he began selling financial services. It was a perfect match and he spent the next thirty years crushing it, exceeding even his loftiest goals, laughingly telling a friend, “who would have expected aguy like metoget so far in life with so little talent.”

Next to his family, sports was Dave’s other passion. Top of the list was the San Jose State Spartans football team. He also loved traveling to the island of Maui, which he considered a second home.

Dave went quietly after a long illness took him February 14th, 2025 and will be greatly missed by his wife, Rosilla, step-daughter Jenny, his sister Colleen, and a rag-tag band of buddies who followed him each year for aweekend in Reno to watch the NCAA March Madness tournament. (Guys, you know who you are.) David's celebration of Life will be on Saturday, May 10 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Brother Albert' s Polish Mission, 10250 Clayton Rd., San Jose, CA.
