


The Waterford Township Police Department arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with a fatal stabbing that left a woman dead, the police department said.
On Friday at about 3:41 p.m., police responded to a home on Hackett Street in Waterford Township after a man called 911 and said that he had stabbed his fiance´e, authorities said. Upon arrival, police encountered the caller, a 25-year-old man, as he exited the home and took him into custody. Officers entered the home and found a 33-year-old woman inside.
Waterford Regional Fire also responded to render aid to the victim, but she was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.
The male suspect was transported to Waterford Police Headquarters, booked, and lodged at the Oakland County Jail, authorities said. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence and the scene was processed with assistance from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives will continue to gather facts and evidence in the case, which will be presented to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office for review and consideration of criminal charges, the Waterford Township Police Department said.
