


The San Rafael Pacifics will be glad to come back home Thursday for a three-game homestand, beginning with a two-game set against the Martinez Sturgeon. San Rafael was 4-2 against Martinez (16-16) in June.
The Pacifics (24-10) lost the first two games of a three-game road trip in Bakersfield. Division-leading San Rafael lost 6-3 on Monday to the second-place Train Robbers (20-13), then lost 11-10 in 11 innings on Tuesday. They wrapped up the series on Wednesday night.
San Rafael’s Aki Buckson hammered his division-leading eighth home run of the season Tuesday, a two-run shot that sparked an eight-run third inning. Kyle Guerra was 4-for-6 and Fred Buckson was 3-for-5.
Little League
The Twin Cities majors Little League team used a big fourth inning to punch its ticket into the District 3 championship game following an 11-0 victory against San Francisco American in four innings on Wednesday.
Twin Cities scored three times in the first inning, carried a 5-0 lead into the decisive fourth inning, then scored six times to end the game early.
Oliver Brown pitched 3.2 innings, allowing one hit and striking out six. Levi Pollard came in to get the final out.
Jack Meyer, Auggie Zola-Kahn, and Dylan Christensen drove in two runs apiece for Twin Cities, which advances to the title game at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Joe Wagner in Larkspur.
San Francisco American tumbles into the elimination bracket and plays Thursday against Novato North at Babe Silva.
Novato North also won big on Wednesday, scoring 14 runs in the first inning to eliminate Tiburon Peninsula 20-4.
Ian Bowman homered and drove in six runs for Novato North. Cyrue Bentaleb and Kingston Jepma drove in three runs apiece.
• In 11s action, Novato North advanced to Saturday’s title game following a 2-0 victory against Twin Cities on Wednesday. Novato North scored twice in the third inning and limited Twin Cities to just one hit.
Saturday’s title game is set for 10:30 a.m. at Joe Wagner in Larkspur. Twin Cities is set to face Novato South in the elimination bracket at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Boyle. Novato South took down Mill Valley 8-2 on Wednesday night, scoring all of its runs in the fourth inning. Henry Hemmelgarn pitched 5.1 innings and struck out 10 for Novato South.
Alexander Clausen drove in two runs and Sebastian Sansone had two hits.
• Ross Valley secured a 5-3 victory against Twin Cities in the 9-10s tournament to advance to Saturday’s final. Ross Valley scored two runs in the fifth inning to take the lead for good. Twin Cities will face the winner of the elimination bracket at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Joe Wagner.
