Stabbing: On Nov. 14 at around 11:58 p.m., officers responded to the Woodland Memorial Hospital on West Court Street to the report of a victim of a stabbing that had occurred at bar in Woodland. The victim had two stab wounds mid-back. The victim was treated and discharged from the hospital shortly after the investigation. Officers discovered a crime scene with blood in a parking lot on East Street. Officers obtained a general description of a suspect and sent out a be on the lookout for surrounding agencies. The investigations division was assigned the case for further investigation.

Shooting arrest: On Nov. 18 at around 2:41 a.m., officers received a call of a shooting that had just occurred in the 1000 block of Clover Street. The Yolo County Sheriff’s Department also responded to assist at the scene. The investigation revealed that 33-year-old Woodland resident Bremmer Lopez-Sanchez shot a firearm at another person who resides at the same. No one was wounded; however, Lopez-Sanchez was still inside the residence, believed to be armed. Officers set a perimeter and called the Yolo County Regional SWAT Team, K-9, and Drone teams to the scene. Announcements were made for Lopez-Sanchez to surrender. After several hours, Lopez-Sanchez was apprehended without incident. Detectives assisted in a search warrant of Lopez-Sanchez’s residence, which revealed a semi-automatic handgun and ammunition. Lopez-Sanchez was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, prohibited person in possession of a firearm, and prohibited person in possession of ammunition. Lopez-Sanchez

HOST made 35 contacts and offered services to 5 individuals, 2 accepted services. HOST tagged 14 camps and cleaned up 10. HOST conducted 8 downtown patrols.

HOST officers learned of a case Patrol was working on over the past two weeks where a 13-year-old female had been confronted by a male making inappropriate comments that were sexual in nature. Based on the description and location where this incident was reported to have occurred, HOST officers knew of a sex registrant who was on parole and frequented the area. HOST and Patrol identified a 75-year-old male, James Johnston, was identified, located, and arrested on 11/18/24 for child annoying, violation of parole, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of paraphernalia.
