This week, events in the Inland Empire and beyond are celebrating the life and legacy of slain civil rights leader the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., who was assassinated in 1968.
In Riverside, the 29th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Walk-A-Thon, organized by the Riverside African American Historical Society, made its way from Bordwell Park on the city’s Eastside to the city’s Main Library downtown.
Meanwhile, in Redlands, the Second Baptist Church held its ninth Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration, which included a youth history camp, art show and resource fair.
More events took place over the weekend and others are still to come.
