SAN FRANCISCO >> For a few years now, Giants fans have known what staff ace Logan Webb is all about.
In a 9-3 win over the Colorado Rockies Sunday, a crowd of 41,087 began to get a better idea about shortstop Willy Adames.
Webb gave up one run in seven innings to improve his record to 5-2 and Adames, who signed a seven-year, $182 million free agent contract in the offseason, hit a pair of home runs and booming double to drive in three runs as the Giants won three of four from the Rockies before taking to the road.
It was the third and fourth home runs for the season for Adames, who came in hitting .215, and prompted a standing ovation from the fans when he came up in the seventh with the bases loaded. Adames struck out, but the Giants scored four times in the inning anyway to put the game away.

Earthquakes win >> Cristian Espinoza had two goals and an assist, Cristian Arango added a goal and two assists and the San Jose Earthquakes beat Portland 4-1 on Saturday night to end a three-game skid and snap the Timbers’ seven-game unbeaten streak.
Three of the Quakes’ goals came in a 12-minute span midway through the first half to put them solidly in front.
Kane gets title >> Harry Kane can finally celebrate his first career title after Bayern Munich became Bundesliga champion on Sunday with a little help from Freiburg.
Freiburg drew with second-placed Bayer Leverkusen 2-2 to leave Bayern an unassailable eight points clear of the 2024 champion with two rounds of the German league remaining.
Kane had never won a title in a career of runner-up finishes and individual top scorer awards with England and Tottenham, leading some to speak of a “curse” against a player considered one of the world’s best forwards.
Obi becomes youngest player to play for Man United >> Chido Obi became the youngest player to start a Premier League match for Manchester United when he lined up as the team’s striker against Brentford at the age of 17 years and 156 days.
Obi is a Denmark youth international who joined United from Arsenal last year and has made five appearances in the league this season, each time as a substitute. He has yet to score.

DeChambeau wins on LIV Golf tour >> Bryson DeChambeau held off a big charge from Charles Howell III with birdies on his last two holes for a 6-under 66 for a two-shot victory at LIV Golf Korea, his first title since winning the U.S. Open last summer.
DeChambeau, who played in the final group at the Masters and lost a 36-hole lead at LIV Golf Mexico City last week, started the third and final round at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club with a four-shot lead and was even par for the round through nine holes.
Howell, his Crushers teammate, closed with a 63. They were tied until Howell made a bogey on the 16th hole, and DeChambeau rolled in a long birdie putt at the 17th for a two-shot cushion going to the par-5 18th. They both birdied.
Scheffler wins at Byron Nelson >> Scottie Scheffler matched the PGA Tour’s 72-hole scoring record on Sunday, finishing at 253 and running away with an eight-shot victory at his hometown CJ Cup Byron Nelson.
The top-ranked player, who closed with a 63 to finish at 31 under par, tied the mark set by Justin Thomas at the 2017 Sony Open and equaled six years later by Ludvig Aberg at the RSM Classic.
Scheffler was in position to break the record before a flubbed chip that led to bogey on the par-3 17th hole and a par from a greenside bunker on the par-5 closing hole. His 8-foot putt for birdie and the record slid by the left side of the hole.
