After a yearslong renovation, Chaffey College Aquatics Center is now complete.
To honor the occasion, school officials held a ceremony Thursday that included tours and the swim team at the college’s Rancho Cucamonga campus, 5885 Haven Ave.
The pool closed in 2020 for renovation, and since then Panther Water Polo and Swim team practices and events have been held at Fontana Park, according to the Chaffey College website.
The work was paid for with money from a November 2018 $700 million school bond measure, the site says. The bond money will go toward improving and expanding facilities at the three campuses.
Now that the aquatics center is complete, both teams can return to the pool and hosting events on their home turf.
The campus will also bring back swim instruction as traditional courses and the summer youth swim program, the website says.
