SAN FRANCISCO >> Warriors guard Steph Curry returned from injury against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night after he had missed the previous two games with a sore left knee.

Curry injected a much-needed spark into a Warriors team that entered the game on a five-game losing streak. He scored 12 points, shooting 4-for-8 from the field — including a pair of 3-pointers — to give the Warriors a 10-point lead at halftime. Curry’s hot half inspired a strong start for Klay Thompson, who had 12 points at the half, including a pair of open 3s.

Saturday’s game was still in progress when this edition went to press. For a full recap, visit mercurynews.com/warriors.

Curry, 35, was injured on a hard fall during the Warriors’ loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers last Saturday. But an MRI revealed no structural damage to the knee.

Curry’s return can help the Warriors salvage a rough skid as Draymond Green serves a five-game suspension. Curry leads the team in scoring and offensive production, averaging 30.7 points per game and shooting 44.6% on 3-point attempts

In addition to Green, Trayce Jackson-Davis and Gary Payton II were out against Oklahoma City.

Payton strained his left foot coming down on Chet Holmgren’s foot during a play on Thursday and will be re-evaluated in the coming days. Jackson-Davis was recalled from Santa Cruz but was listed as out with a lower leg injury.
