FREMONT — A man struck and killed by a BART train Thursday evening at the Warm Springs station was a 24-year-old Milpitas resident, authorities said Friday.
The incident happened just before 5 p.m.
Authorities said it appeared the man deliberately entered the trackway and was struck by an oncoming train. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities said that BART police did not find any signs of foul play.
BART spokesman Chris Filippi said BART closed the station and reduced train service through the area to a single track. AC Transit offered bus service between the Warm Springs and Milpitas stations.
The station was reopened by 8:25 p.m. and complete service was restored.
