Daniel James Pacheco, age 86, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2024. Daniel was born on September 30, 1938 in Newman, California to John and Belmira Pacheco. He was a native of Newman, California. He attended Newman Elementary School and Newman High School, Gavilan Junior College, and the Hartnell Police Academy. Throughout his life, Daniel lived in Newman, Watsonville, Capitola, and Soquel. Daniel worked as a sergeant for the Capitola Police Department, as a security guard for the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf, and as a driver for Loomis Armored Trucks. Daniel was a member of the NRA, the California Police Officers Association, and the Santa Cruz Elks. He enjoyed golf, baseball, airshows, and camping.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sue Pacheco. He is also survived by his daughter Shannon and his sons Gregory, Steve, Marc, and Daniel. Daniel is preceded in death by his sisters Mary, Aileen, Hilda, Edwina, and Alice.

A Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, September 21st at 1:30pm at Oakwood Memorial Park.
