Detroit was supposed to take a step forward last season, perhaps even flirt with the possibility of being a play-in-caliber team. Instead, the Pistons tumbled through the franchise’s worst season to date, going 14-68.

Changes are coming for the Pistons, with team owner Tom Gores announcing after the disastrous 2023-24 season that he’s looking to hire a president of basketball operations. General manager Troy Weaver’s and head coach Monty Williams’ future in Detroit, too, seems to be up in the air.

Clarity on the Pistons’ next decision-maker should take shape in the near future.
