Think again. “Solo travel has officially become one of the coolest, most popular ways to explore the world – more of a badge of honor than a last resort,” writes Caitlin Morton at Conde Nast Traveler.

In a year where tour companies offer special packages for lone wolves, Morton has compiled a list of the 18 best solo trips to take around the world. The destinations range from Sri Lanka to Copenhagen to the iguana-infested waters of the Galapagos.
