In the past decade I have observed many vehicles traveling at speeds approaching 100 mph. This truly is putting other drivers in jeopardy. A solution to get drivers to slow down may be to place speed cameras on highways in strategic places and move them periodically to keep drivers in suspense. Anyone caught driving over 80 mph would be imposed with a $100 fine for each offense.

I appreciate Robert Callahan’s perspective on being a diplomat under Trump. Many of us have had difficult bosses and have had to deal with the bridges burned by those bosses in order to do our job. And sometimes it becomes so difficult the only option is to quit. I hope this will not happen with many of the federal employees we have now. Every four to eight years they are drawn in different directions, but they understand how the system works and are able to deal with it. As we watch some of the elected officials jump ship, thank the career employees for staying.

Any able-bodied person who says they can’t find a job is either lying about looking or just doesn’t want to work. Help Wanted and Now Hiring signs and banners are everywhere, and it’s not just since the onset of the holiday season.
