NOTES: The CU program begins its 12th season, all of them under head coach Ann Elliott Whidden, who owns a 122-67 mark. … Pisani was named the Big 12 preseason attacker of the year, and she also was a preseason honorable mention All-American selection by USA Lacrosse. … Pisani’s 67 goals last year trailed only Darby Kiernan’s 70 goals in 2018 among the Buffs’ season leaders. Pisani finished with 80 points, which tied for third all-time at CU. … Also among CU’s returnees this season is Morgan Pence, a fifth-year player who was limited to two games last year due to an injury. Pence recorded 21 assists in 2023, which tied for the fifth-highest season total in team history, and she goes into the season ranked 10th with 31 career assists. … Stanford leads the all-time series against CU, 13-9. … The Buffs lost two contests against the Cardinal last year, including an 11-8 decision in the Pac-12 title game. … Stanford opened the season with an 18-6 win at No. 24 USC on Saturday behind seven goals from Poliski. The Buffs continue their season-opening road trip against USC on Sunday in Berkeley, Calif. (2 p.m.). … CU plays its first three games on the road before hosting Army in the home opener on Feb. 28. After spending 11 seasons at Kittredge Field, the Buffs will play their home games this season at Prentup Field.
