Vera Ann McNaught, age 90, passed away peacefully on Jan. 19, 2025. Born on Aug. 1, 1934, in Mooreland, Oklahoma, to Elmer Highfill and Elizabeth Davis, she spent her early years in Oklahoma before moving to California.
Vera was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She worked in the accounting department as an office manager for the Whittier School District, known for her strong work ethic and attention to detail.
A devout believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, Vera actively participated in her church community. She loved traveling across the United States, cooking, and baking. She was an avid fan of British comedies and enjoyed a good laugh.
Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Buckley McNaught; daughter, Cynthia Vogelesang; and son, Bruce McNaught. She is survived by her daughter, Lori Strubb; granddaughter, Holly Torres; grandson, Brian Vogelesang; great-grandsons, Noah Esquibel and Benjamin Vriens; and many extended family members and friends.
A viewing will be held on Feb. 14, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Todd Memorial Chapel, Pomona, CA, and a memorial service will be held on Feb. 15, 2025, at 11:00 am at White Avenue Community Church, Pomona, CA. She will be laid to rest at La Verne Cemetery.
