Donna Marie Niester, 67, of Fort Gratiot, died Sunday, October 6, 2024 at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.<br><br>She was born November 2, 1956 in Mt. Clemens to the late Gerald and Beverly Niester.<br><br>Donna was Chief Executive Officer of Acheson Ventures and Trustee of the James C. Acheson Foundation since 2000. Before joining Acheson Ventures, she was a partner with Austin, Niester, Schweihofer &amp; Finnegan PC. She had been a Michigan Certified Public Accountant for over 40 years.<br><br>Donna is survived by her sister Sherrie (Kevin) Sheehan of Ohio and her brother, Gerald (Lisa) Niester II of Rochester Hills; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and her beloved partner for over 17 years, Brian Harris.<br><br>The family will receive friends from 2-9 PM on Wednesday, October 9 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home, 1720 Elk Street, Port Huron.<br><br>The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, October 10, 2024 in St. Edward on the Lake Catholic Church, 6945 Lakeshore Road, Lakeport with the Reverend Lee Acervo officiating.<br><br>The Rite of Committal will follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.<br><br>Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Donna M.
