Denver’s KO Law names new managing partner

Jennifer Rosenthal has been named managing partner of KO Law, a corporate and commercial law firm in Denver.

Rosenthal joined KO Law in 2012 and was promoted to equity partner four years later. This marks the law firm’s “fastest ascension to partnership by anyone in the firm’s history,” according to a news release. She also was the first equity partner and is now the firm’s first female managing partner, the release stated.

“I am honored to be named managing partner of KO Law and excited to steer the firm toward continued growth and success,” Rosenthal said in the release. “KO Law has always been committed to delivering exceptional client service and fostering a balanced, collaborative, innovative culture. I look forward to building on our strong foundation, advancing our strategic vision, and leading our incredible team into the future.”

Rosenthal focuses on corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity investments, the release stated. She also serves as outside general counsel for many of her clients.

Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, she earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado Boulder and her law degree from the University of Colorado Law School. Prior to joining KO Law, she was a corporate associate in the Denver office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, an international law firm based in Los Angeles.

KGNU among recipients of Boulder commercial property grants

Three organizations split $840,000 in grants from Boulder’s Affordable Commercial Pilot Program, which helps small businesses and nonprofit groups pay for rent and improvements to commercial buildings.

The recipients, according to a city news release, were:

• KGNU received a grant to support the renovation of the radio station’s new 10,000-square-foot community media center located at 1720 14th St. In addition to a long-term home for KGNU, this project commits affordable space for a café tenant and low rates on performance and meeting spaces for arts groups and nonprofits.

• Top Hat Supply for Journeys received a grant to support capital improvements and rent subsidies aimed at revitalizing the East Pearl location at 1721 Pearl St. This space will house a nonprofit dedicated to an incubator space for artists to launch their businesses. It will offer affordable studio and gallery representation, host monthly open studio hours for artists and facilitate community-driven cultural events.

• The New Local received a grant to support heating upgrades for a space at 713 Pearl St. and was awarded a rent subsidy over at least the next five years. This funding will allow The New Local to maintain low fees for the women-owned small businesses it supports.
