Pittsburg wide receiver RJ Mosley and a pair of De La Salle standouts — defensive lineman Nemyah Telona and athlete Jaden Jefferson — were among the Bay Area high school football players who made their college commitments official on Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period.

Mosley signed a letter of intent to join former San Jose State coach Brent Brennan’s team at Arizona. Telona signed with Cal, and Jefferson, California’s reigning high school champion in the 100-meter dash, is headed to Chapel Hill to play for Bill Belichick at North Carolina.

New Stanford coach Tavita Pritchard landed St. Francis linebacker Chase Cahoon and Archbishop Riordan quarterback Michael Mitchell Jr., who announced on Saturday that he was heading to The Farm after de-committing from Vanderbilt on Nov. 21.

Mitchell has passed for 3,471 yards and 46 touchdowns with only four interceptions this season, leading Riordan to its first CCS Open Division championship and a berth in a NorCal title game on Friday at Folsom.

Later Wednesday, McClymonds defensive back Rahsjon Duncan signed with Washington. He is the 17th-rated senior in California, according to 247Sports.

Riordan offensive lineman Tommy Tofi, rated No. 10 overall among California seniors by 247Sports, officially signed with Oregon on Wednesday evening.

San Jose State received signatures Wednesday morning from Moreau Catholic athlete Lance Mitchell Jr., Riordan linebacker Skylar Tiatia and Valley Christian offensive lineman Andrew Latu.

Monte Vista defensive lineman Dakota Dickson signed with SMU, and St. Francis offensive lineman John Fifita gave his signature to USC.

Clayton Valley running back Jhadis Luckey, who ran for more than 2,000 yards this fall, will play for Fresno State, and Valley Christian offensive lineman Terrence Johnson is moving on to Nevada.

BYU got a signature from St. Francis athlete Sefanaia Alatini, and San Diego State received signed letters from McClymonds defensive lineman Koi Taiese and Campolindo tight end Crosby Kelly.
