Sophomore outside hitter Ella Dueck had 15 kills and hit .333, and Aptos High’s girls volleyball team swept visiting Santa Cruz 25-21, 25-23, 25-16 in the teams’ Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League match Tuesday.

Dueck also had 15 digs and made two blocks.

Junior right side hitter Kenzie Smith had six kills and three aces for the Mariners. Junior setter Isabella Magana served three aces, dished out 13 assists, and made 12 digs.

Freshman Haisley Flanagan had a team-high seven kills and made eight digs for the Cardinals. Senior Kelaiah Wynn had five kills, and senior Inde Snell had four kills. Sophomore Colette Huynh and freshman Chloe Schantz each had nine assists. Shelby Leonardich made 17 digs. Freshman Irie Butler also made eight digs.

On Thursday at 6:30 p.m., Aptos (2-5, 1-1) plays at San Lorenzo Valley, and Santa Cruz hosts Soquel.

At Soquel 3, Scotts Valley 1 >> Claire Petersen had 15 kills, 12 digs, and served four aces as the Knights rallied for a 19-25, 25-21, 25-16, 25-17 win in SCCAL play Tuesday.

Jillian Winterburn had 10 kills for the Knights. Mia Riddle had 25 assists and 10 digs. Lily Juarez-Sapone had 14 assists and four digs, and Gianna Audisio had six assists and 27 digs.

Sadie Holden had six kills, eight digs, and two aces for Soquel. Zoe Adams had six kills and three digs. Katy Eze had five kills and 10 digs, and Gemma Reyes made 11 digs.

Soquel (4-6, 2-1) plays at Santa Cruz on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

At Harbor 3, SLV 0 >> Senior outside hitter Tea Stockwell had eight kills and four aces in the Pirates’ 25-13, 25-13, 25-17 win in SCCAL play Tuesday night.

Senior setter Callahan Stone had 17 assists for the Pirates (5-5, 3-0), and senior libero Zoe Kemos made 11 digs

Harbor travels to Sacred Heart Prep on Thursday at 6:30 pm.

St. Francis 3, at North Salinas 1 >> Senior middle Carley Anderson had 13 kills and two blocks to lead the Sharks to a 25-23, 22-25, 25-22, 25-16 win in the team’s PCAL Cypress Division opener Tuesday.

Junior outside Peyton Orradre had 10 kills for the Sharks (6-2, 1-0). Junior setter Georgia Otzman made 13 assists and served three aces, and junior setter Julie Lopez had 11 assists.

“Great first game to start the league,” Sharks coach Sabrina Bracken said. “North Salinas has great defense and we were able to make plays and put the ball down.”

St. Francis hosts North Monterey County on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Girls golf

Aptos 151, at Harbor 188 >> Emily Fassio shot 9-over-par 32 for medalist honors in the teams’ six-hole match on the front nine at DeLaveaga Golf Course on Tuesday.

Lemi Anastasopolus (36), Lilly McGee (39), and Adeline Burgess (44) also scored for the Mariners (1-0).

Olivia Strusis-Bregant (45), Miah Murray (47), Sadie Morey(48) and Eloise James (48) scored for Harbor (0-1).

On Thursday at DeLaveag, Aptos plays Soquel, while Harbor plays Scotts Valley.

Men’s soccer

Cabrillo 1, at Foothill 1 >> Eduardo Alvarez scored in the 85th minute to help the Seahawks earn a draw in their road match Tuesday.

Goalie Carlos Bajaras made two saves for the Seahawks. Jack Hathaway made six saves for the Owls (4-2-1) over 80 minutes before giving way to Sina Maghsoodnia.

Cabrillo (1-1-2) plays at Clovis (1-2-1) on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

At Cosumnes River 6, Cabrillo 0 >> The Seahawks were shut out in their nonconference road match Tuesday.

Cabrillo (1-4-0) hosts Folsom Lake (6-0-1) on Friday at 4 p.m.

Mountain biking

Chequamegon 40 >> Santa Cruz’s Tobin Ortenblad, 29, took sixth place out of 98 competitors in the Pro/Elite Chequamegon 40 race at the Chequamegon Mountain Bike Festival in Cable, Wisconsin, on Saturday.

The Pacific Collegiate School alum finished the 39.1-mile race in 2:00:03.

Keegan Swenson of Midway, Utah, won in 2:00:01.
