Several people suspected of targeting liquor and retail stores in at least five Denver metro counties to steal and resell their products have been indicted and arrested on organized crime charges.
Tabor Jaramillo-Trujillo, 24; Mason Grantham, 23; Abram Valdez, 19; and Isaiah Akridge, 19, were arrested in connection with the crime ring in an operation law enforcement agencies dubbed “Tequila Sunset,” according to a release from the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office. Jaramillo-Trujillo is in custody in the Boulder County Jail on a $100,000 bond, according to jail records. Grantham and Akridge are in custody and bond was set at $100,000 for each, according to online court documents. Valdez is also in custody on a $25,000 bond.
It was not clear where Grantham, Akridge and Valdez were being held.
The four face Colorado Organized Crime Control Act charges, which carry sentences of up to 24 years in prison, according to the district attorney’s release.
Jaramillo-Trujillo, who was arrested Tuesday, is facing 94 charges. Grantham, who was detained Wednesday, is facing 47 similar charges; Valdez is facing 14; and Akridge is facing 49.
The district attorney’s office said in the release the crime ring broke into liquor and retail stores in at least nine communities, including Arvada, Brighton, Broomfield, Erie, Lafayette, Louisville, Northglenn, Superior and Westminster, and stole at least $153,272 in merchandise and caused over $54,005 in property damage.
The crime ring members also reportedly used stolen vehicles to get between locations. The release said the crime ring would then sell the stolen liquor and merchandise.

The district attorney’s office conducted a joint investigation with police departments in Lafayette, Broomfield and Westminster.
“Through these joint efforts, this crime ring has been brought to a halt,” DA Michael Dougherty said in a release. “This indictment reflects why these strong working relationships make a real difference.”
“These arrests are a good example of the cooperative relationship that exists among Colorado law enforcement,” Lafayette police Chief Rick Bashor said in the release. “The results of everyone’s hard work benefits each of our communities.” Jaramillo-Trujillo has two ongoing cases on charges of first-degree motor vehicle theft, owning or operating a chop shop, obstructing a peace officer, vehicular eluding and theft $5,000 to $20,000, according to online court records.
Grantham also has one ongoing case on charges of harassment over the phone, online court records show. In 2024, he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in Adams County. Akridge pleaded guilty in a plea deal to one count of obstructing a peace officer in May in Boulder County, according to online court records.
