October 21, 1934 - October 29, 2024 Whittier, CA Robert Norman LeClerc, known among friends and family as Bob, was born in Woonsocket, RI, on October 21, 1934, and passed in Whittier, CA on October 29, 2024.
His parents were Police Officer, Albert Joseph LeClerc and Homemaker, Ida Mercier LeClerc. Bob was the eldest of two children. His younger sister, Adrienne Gayer, currently resides in Wolfboro, NH.
Bob attended elementary and junior high school in Woonsocket, RI, and was pleased to attend the LaSalle Academy in Providence, RI, for high school. Bob majored in science and biology at Providence College, where he was also a part of the campus ROTC program.
Following graduation in 1956, Bob joined the army and was stationed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He served in Korea as a 1st Lieutenant and later joined the US Army reserve, where he served as a Major in the Medical Service Corps.
In 1958, Bob married his high school, sweetheart, Kathryn Durkin, and they relocated to Anaheim, Mission Viejo, and then Whittier, California, where they built their dream home in Friendly Hills and raised for children.
Bob spent the majority of his successful sales and marketing career with Maritz, An employee recognition company. Bob was known for his quick wit. He could make any work situation more fun. He was an outgoing, loyal, and committed sales rep, and his hard work and charm put him in charge of the travel incentive rewards program for Nissan Automotive. Due to the nature of his work, Bob and Kay enjoyed extensive travel worldwide. Bob truly loved helping people achieve their goals and was a mentor for colleagues at both Meritz and Nissan.
Bob’s wife Kay passed away in 2004. Six years later, he married Sally Byrnes of Fountain Valley, CA. Sally was also a widow, and they married in Lake Arrowhead, CA, where they spent alot of time enjoying the cabin and the boat with friends and family in the fresh mountain air. They resided in Whittier, CA, until his death.
Bob is survived by his wife, Sally; son, John LeClerc, of Exeter; and daughters, Joanne Bikmaz of San Dimas, Jacqueline Stolz of Exeter, and Danna Evans of Scottsdale, AZ - as well as his nine grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.
A memorial will be held at 11am on November 23 at Saint Bruno Catholic Church. in Lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Saint Jude Medical Center, Fullerton, CA.
