


Carly Amborn scored a career-high 42 points to lift San Domenico past Bay Counties foe Lick-Wilmerding in a nail-biting 56-54 road win on Thursday.
Amborn, who drilled nine 3-pointers in the game, got off to a hot start, with 30 points in the first half as the Panthers led 35-27 at the break. The Tigers rallied in the third quarter, and even took a 42-41 lead in the seesaw battle.
Tosia Konczak finished with nine points for the Panthers (10-10, 4-1 BCL West), who have a scheduled rematch with league leader University (8-8, 3-0) on Tuesday. San Domenico lost to University, 62-48, on Jan. 14.
Boys soccer
Masa Fujita scored three consecutive goals to lead Redwood to a 5-0 win against Novato on Thursday. Ben Sherry opened the scoring for the Giants (4-2-4, 2-1-2) off an assist by Sam Gersch. Fujita got the next three, with assists from Ike Gebhard, James Mastafavi, and Gersch. Van Bowers capped the scoring against Novato (0-6-1, 0-3-1), assisted by Chase Martin.
• Marin Catholic remained unbeaten in league play this season, securing its first victory -- a 3-1 win against Terra Linda on Thursday -- after opening up the MCAL slate with four consecutive ties. TL (5-5-1, 3-2-0) scored first on a goal by Johan Cifuentes, assisted by Andrew Santos. MC (6-4-5, 1-0-4) equalized on a penalty kick in the first half then tacked on two more goals in the second half.
• Archie Williams (6-3-3, 3-0-1) vaulted into first place following a 6-0 victory against San Marin (5-4-3, 1-2-1) on Thursday. The Peregrine Falcons sit one point above TL and two above Redwood but have a game in hand over both.
• Branson (4-5-4, 2-2-1) scored on a first-half penalty kick and added a second goal in the 53rd minute to secure a 2-0 road win at San Rafael (4-7-3, 1-2-1) on Thursday night.
Women’s basketball
Ty Chappell led College of Marin with 12 points in the Mariners’ 50-46 loss to rival Solano on Wednesday. Isabella Zepeda added 14 rebounds and nine points for the Mariners (10-10, 5-3 BVC), who travel to Yuba on Jan. 29.
Prep wrestling
Host Terra Linda won four of the six contested matches, with three victories by pinfall, in Wednesday’s 63-17 dual meet win over Redwood. The Trojans’ Arthur Sepan (146), Lazslo Chaffee (177) and Tristan Collins (192) all pinned their opponents, while Olivia Zabierek (115) won a 11-9 decision. Redwood’s Dylan Morton (134) won by technical fall and Rex Kohner (108) win by pin.
Collins pinned Novato’s Kaden Wagner-Fuller in the Trojans’ 45-35 win agains the Hornets. Terra Linda’s Kai Probst (134) and Kaden Pace (140) also pinned their opponents, and Jake Hallum (167) won a 9-4 decision over Novato’s Dante Vicente. Novato heavyweight Braedon Carrol, ranked No. 1 in the North Coast Section and seventh in the state at 287 pounds, pinned the Trojans’ Arturo Gomez. The Hornets also got pinfall wins from Jiriah Vannasy (122) and Ryan Costa (128), while Jonny Bartnicki (177) won by technical fall and Indy Sehhat (108) earned a 10-5 decision.
The Giants’ Morton, Charlie Seraphine (140), Sam Pavey (167), Alexander Berkowitz (177) and Kaito Naka (192) all won by pinfall in Redwood’s 43-23 victory over Novato. The Giants’ Sol Strasburg (108) and Sam Pavey (167) won by decision. The Hornets’ Max Kujawa (115) earned a technical fall win.
• Tam High rolled past a thin Archie Williams lineup, 72-5, Wednesday with pinfall wins from Ablai Zhoroev (122), Sebastian Kauh (128) and Valentino Van Praag (159). The Peregrine Falcons’ Kiran Toy (192) beat Lucas Simonton, 17-1.
