Fifty Michigan libraries will host authors whose works were honored as 2025 Michigan Notable Books, the Library of Michigan announced.

The 2025 Michigan Notable Books Author Tour is April through June. In addition to the author tour the annual Night for Notables celebration is scheduled on Saturday, April 26, at the Library of Michigan in Lansing.

The tour will pass through four Oakland County libraries:

April 25 — Rochester Christian University — Ham Library May 7 — Royal Oak Public Library June 2 — Clarkston Independence District Library June 25 — Oak Park Public Library

The Michigan Notable Books program annually selects 20 outstanding books published the previous calendar year that reflect Michigan’s diverse ethnic, historical, literary, and cultural experiences.

“Connecting authors with people across Michigan is one of the great aspects of the Michigan Notable Books program, especially in communities that don’t always have the opportunity to meet with high-caliber writers,” said State Librarian Randy Riley. “It’s wonderful to hear the conversations at these author events as each title celebrates the uniqueness of life in Michigan.”
