PITCHING REPORT: Tony Gonsolin pitched one inning in his first start of the spring and threw 18 pitches. He faced four batters, gave up a single and struck out two. “He looks sharp right now,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. “I think he’s in a really good spot given what he’s been through the last calendar year.” Gonsolin is returning from Tommy John surgery in September 2023. ... Non-roster pitcher Luis Garcia gave up three runs in the third inning on two doubles (Ian Happ and Pete Crow-Armstrong) and a home run (Miguel Amaya). ... Dodgers pitchers gave up 19 runs on 26 hits in the first two games of the Cactus League schedule.

DEFENSE REPORT: Center fielder Andy Pages got a bad jump on a fly ball by Vidal Brujan. It went over his head for a triple. Asked after the game if the bright sun affected his break on the ball, Pages said, “No. That was me,” and tapped his chest.
