Brush removal work planned on boulevard

Caltrans plans to restrict traffic on Tiburon Boulevard during vegetation management work next month.

The project area is between Trestle Glen Boulevard and Rock Hill Road. The agency plans one-way traffic control in the area from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on July 7 to 11.

Dentist gets post at national association

The American Dental Association has named San Rafael resident Nader Nadershahi as a senior vice president.

Nadershahi will handle educational issues such as program accreditation and licensure and testing services, according to the association, a nonprofit that is based in Chicago and has about 160,000 members.

Nadershahi has worked in private practice in Marin and as dean of the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco.

Unemployment data show rate at 3.6%

The unemployment rate for Marin County in May was 3.6%, according to new data from the state Employment Development Department.

The agency released the latest figures on Friday. The rate was 3.7% in April and 3.3% in May 2024.

Elsewhere in the North Bay, Napa County’s rate was 3.5% last month, Sonoma County’s was 3.8% and Solano County’s was 4.7%. California’s month-over-month rate was 5.3%, the agency reported.

Minor tidal flooding in forecast for Marin

Minor flooding is expected during high tides along the bayshore this week, the National Weather Service said.

The flooding advisory extends into early Thursday morning. The highest tides are expected from about 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.
