Age 81 of St. Paul, formerly of Lakeville, MN, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025. Born Arnold Michael Sauber to Arnold and Ethel (Schmitz) Sauber on July 13, 1943, in Farmington, MN. Michael went to school in Lakeville until he entered the St. Paul/Minneapolis Archdiocesan St. Paul Seminary system. He was ordained a Catholic Priest on May 24, 1969. He also attended University of St. Thomas and received his master’s degree. He served in several Archdiocesan parishes: St. Joseph in West St. Paul, St. Agnes in St. Paul, again at St. Joseph in West St. Paul, St. Luke in Clearwater, St. Mary in Shakopee, Immaculate Conception in Lonsdale, and St. Olaf in Minneapolis.<br><br>Fr. Sauber also served as Rural Life Director for the Archdiocese for about 10 years. Father Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Ethel, and brother-in-law, Donald Thomas. He is survived by his siblings, Jerome (Janet) Sauber, Elizabeth Thomas, Nancy (Tim Kuntz) Sauber, Colleen Sauber and William (Cindy) Sauber, and also by many nieces and nephews.
