The L’Anse Creuse Middle School North seventh grade girls basketball team recently finished a dominant season, going 12-0.

The Crusaders held their first five opponents of the season under 10 points, beating Eastpointe 43-4, Romeo White 34-4, Algonquin 46-2, Richards 41-7 and Wyandotte 65-6.

“I am beyond blessed to have had the opportunity to be a part of this team as the coach this season,” said LCMSN coach Meghan Henry.

“This unforgettable journey will be remembered by players, coaches, parents, opponents, and fans alike—a true testament to the Crusaders’ heart, skill, and unity. Their victory wasn’t just a reflection of their talent but of their relentless drive and the strong bond they formed throughout the season, cementing their place as truly deserving champions.”

Seneca finally broke the barrier, but were still conquered 50-20. They then defeated New Haven 52-7, Romeo Red 36-11 and Iroquois 23-7 before taking on the L’Anse Creuse gauntlet, beating Central 46-19, South 30-5 and East 35-4.

One of the team’s top goals this season was to score 500 points, a mark they achieved with just under 45 seconds left in the season in the win against East when Annabelle Goebel made the final shot of the season.”Whether it was at a 6:30 AM practice or on the court during a game, the MSN 7th-grade basketball players shared a common goal and worked together with hustle to achieve it, earning an undefeated title,” Henry said.”If they continue on the path of hard work and determination, this group has a bright future in basketball, and I can’t wait to see what they continue to accomplish.”

Their season went from Feb. 20 to March 20. The MSN eighth grade boys basketball team also recently finished off an undefeated season, their second in a row.
