Miracle Quilts for our Wounded Troops to host Annual Quilt Show and Display from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at Independence Village, 701 Market St. in Oxford.

This annual show and display with free admission, will feature quilts, a quilt raffle, and a deluxe sewers and crafters garage sale and craft sale. All proceeds from the sales will go towards the purchase of new materials to create the quilts in the upcoming year.

Founded in 2009 by Carole Carroll, the mission of this volunteer group of sewers is to create patriotic handmade quilts for our wounded troops, military veterans that are hospitalized. They are beginning their 15th year.

“This is our way of thanking them for their service and sacrifice to our country,” said Carroll.

Quilts are presented to wounded troops at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington D.C., and Michigan VA hospitals for homeless vets and for troops currently serving. New features of this year’s quilt show include Steve’s Sharpening (scissors, knives and pinking shears), $7 per item and The Le Petit Cafe Aug Roux food truck with quiche, crepes and sweets.

Quilts have been made and donated for sale to raise funds for Miracle Quilts.

Donations are needed for the high cost of shipping and volunteers are needed to help and to take photos. For more information, call Carole Carroll 248-321-8669 or email MiracleQuilts@att.net,
