



Aaron Judge homered twice to reach 30 for the sixth time and Jazz Chisholm Jr. also drove in four runs as Marcus Stroman won in his first start for the New York Yankees since April, a 12-5 romp over the Athletics on Sunday at Yankee Stadium.
Judge hit two-run homers in the fourth off Luis Severino (2-9) and in the seventh against fellow Fresno-area native Tyler Ferguson. Cody Bellinger added a three-run drive for the Yankees, who took two of three from the A’s.
Chisholm put the Yankees ahead in the second with a solo homer and boosted the lead with 4-0 with a bases-loaded triple in a four-run third.
Tigers 3, Twins 0: Tarik Skubal struck out 13 in seven innings and host Detroit beat Minnesota.
Skubal (10-2) allowed one hit — a clean single to right by Ty France in the fifth — as he improved to 10-0 with a 1.74 ERA in his last 15 starts.
Dodgers 5, Royals 1: Kiké Hernández hit a two-run homer, Will Smith also went deep and Los Angeles got a dominant performance from Justin Wrobleski and the rest of their bullpen in a victory at Kansas City.
Wrobleski (4-2) pitched six innings of three-hit ball after relieving opener Lou Trivino.
Kris Bubic (6-6), out of Archbishop Mitty and Stanford, allowed Hernández’s two-run shot in the second inning among his three hits and two walks in five innings. The left-hander struck out five but still took his fourth loss in his last five starts, despite maintaining a 2.25 ERA.
Phillies 2, Braves 1: Ranger Suárez pitched seven strong innings and visiting Philadelphia edged Atlanta to take the three-game series on Sunday.
Suárez (7-2) gave up just one run on four hits. He struck out eight and walked one.
Otto Kemp’s double into the left field corner in the fifth inning scored Bryson Scott from first, and Kemp later came home on Trea Turner’s sacrifice fly to center to give the Phillies a 2-1 lead.
Reds 3, Padres 2: Will Benson hit a bases-loaded single off San Diego closer Robert Suarez in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift Cincinnati.
The Reds’ Elly De La Cruz led off the ninth with an infield single. De La Cruz scored the tying run on a one-out RBI single by Spencer Steer, and after Jose Trevino singled to load the bases, Benson ripped a single down the right-field line.
Pirates 12, Mets 1: Oneil Cruz hit a pair of two-run homers, Tommy Pham and Bryan Reynolds also went deep and Pittsburgh beat visiting New York to complete a three-game sweep.
Astros 2, Cubs 0: Jose Altuve hit a two-run homer, Framber Valdez tossed six shutout innings and host Houston blanked Chicago.
Marlins 6, Diamondbacks 4: Otto Lopez hit a go-ahead, two-run single and Kyle Stowers added a three-run double during an eighth-inning rally and Miami completed a three-game road sweep by beating Arizona for its seventh win in a row.
