Construction began this week on a new In-N-Out location in Monrovia that the company said is expected to open next year.

Approved by the Planning Commission in October 2022, the new location will be at the site of the former Black Angus restaurant in the Huntington Oaks Shopping Center near Huntington Drive and Mayflower Avenue.

The 3,879-square-foot building will have indoor seating for 84 people, patio seating for 40 and a drive thru that can accommodate 26 cars, according to the city of Monrovia.

City Manager Dylan Feik said the project team recently received the demolition permit to begin work on the site.

Mike Abbate, vice president of store development for In-N-Out, said in an email that the Monrovia location will be open in approximately nine months.
